CNC:NET opens up a whole new world for changes to our beloved but flawed Tiberian Sun and I feel like we should use this board to figure out our standpoint on issues before presenting them to the people in charge of cnc:net to not waste their time.
Personally I never used the minimap as a radar is too expensive and takes away too much energy. I'm so stuck in my ways that I'd even hit tab on BBG to see players/colors rather than the minimap as I never looked at it in the first place. But with the new spectator mode on CNC:NET that comes with free mini map I learned to appreciate it again. As I see it here are the
Pros:
It should be available as an on/off option so you aren't forced to use it
Adds a concept that is completely normal in any other RTS game
Makes it easier for new players to navigate and learn the game
Cons:
Has been a bannable offense for years even though it doesn't give a player an unfair advantage anymore as it's available for everybody or nobody
Changes TS' basic concepts
